Senior Archaeologist/Project Director
Millennia Research Limited, located in Victoria, is looking for an experienced archaeologist to fill a full time permanent career position as Senior Archaeologist/Project Director. Millennia conducts work throughout the province, and undertakes cutting-edge research using a variety of technologies and novel approaches. The position is based in Victoria, but work will take place in all areas of BC, so candidates must be willing to travel and spend time away from home. The successful candidate must have extensive experience directing archaeological assessments and will be responsible for various projects from start to finish, working within a flexible, supportive team structure. Duties will include proposal preparation, communication and planning with clients, First Nations and Government personnel, field work and crew supervision, analysis and report writing. Candidates must be able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision.
Applicants must be familiar with and eligible for BC field director status (as per http://www.tti.gov.bc.ca/archaeology/bulletins/bulletin17_field_director_qualifications.htm); knowledge of the BC Heritage Conservation Act; and extensive archaeological project management experience. Preference will be given to candidates that are able to hold permits for coastal BC and are members of the BCAPA.

- WCB OFA Level 1 and Transportation Endorsement certification

- experience operating off road vehicles
ATV operator and H2S Alive certifications would be an asset.
